OVER 300 DRONE BIRD FLIGHTS AT AIRPORTS WORLDWIDE

CLEAR FLIGHT SOLUTIONS AND AERIUM ANALYTICS REACH AN IMPRESSIVE MILESTONE

  • Clear Flight Solutions’ Drone Bird logs over 300 flights on airside
  • Successful first ever full integration with daily airport operations
  • Bringing safe, efficient and effective bird control to airports

Clear Flight Solutions’ Drone Bird has logged over 300 flights on airside at Edmonton International Airport (“EIA”) in Canada, together with operational partner AERIUM Analytics, and an airport in Europe, over a 2-month period of continuous operations. This marks the world’s first ever integration of drone flights within daily operations at major international airports.

At Edmonton International Airport the Drone Bird has currently logged around 200 flights, while CFS’ European airport operation has presently crossed the 100-flight threshold. Well over 10.000 birds have recently been chased away from active runways using Drone Bird and additional bird control solutions, severely reducing the risk of bird strike incidents at these airports. Besides running a full bird control operation at EIA, CFS and AERIUM have also performed several other drone flights in the area including an aerial scan of a runway, allowing for high density data collection and mapping of the EIA’s Aerotropolis.

“We are proud to not only be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of our solutions in terms of bird control, but especially proud that we are able to show that we can safely and reliably operate near active runways in a full integration with the daily airport operations”, says Nico Nijenhuis, CEO of Clear Flight Solutions. “This is a first, but major, step in the direction of an increased use of drones at airports. To be able to set the pace for the industry by conducting operations at two separate airports is an incredible feat”, adds Jordan Cicoria of AERIUM Analytics.

CFS will be present at the Inter Airport Europe exhibition in Munich, Germany from October 10ththrough 13th, and welcomes you to visit its booth at Hall A6, Stand 578.
